Dr. Daniel P. Kirn
Dr. Daniel Kirn is originally from eastern Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Albright College in 1990 and another Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Sciences from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1994. Dr. Kirn completed a residency in Primary Care / Eye Disease at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pa. In 1995, Dr. Kirn and Dr. White started Kirn Family Eye Care.
During this time, he was a clinical instructor for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry Masters program for international optometrists. Also, Dr. Kirn was an instructor for the Central Penn College Optometric Technician program. Dr. Kirn is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optomteric Association, and the Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society.
Dr. Kirn enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. The family enjoys kayaking, hiking, wake-boarding, skiing, and traveling.
Dr. Katherine White - Kirn
Dr. Katherine White was born and raised in eastern North Carolina. In 1990, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She receive a Masters of Science degree in Physiological Optics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 1994, Dr. White received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She traveled to Philadelphia, PA where she completed her residency in Primary Care / Eye Disease at The Eye Institute at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Post-residency she was a clinical instructor at PCO for the International and Continuing Education Department. She was also an instructor for the Central Penn College Optometric Technician program.
In 1995, she and Dr. Kirn opened Kirn Family Eye Care. In addition to primary care, Dr. White's professional interests include specialized and complex contact lens fittings, pediatrics, and managing eye disease.
Dr. White treats patients with glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and cataracts among others. Dr. White is active in the community performing vision screenings for the Rotary Club as well as numerous health fairs.
Dr. White is active in her local community as well. She has been a Girl Scout leader for over 10 years, served as an officer of the PTO, and is active with Samaritan's Purse. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and pets.
